“Paul is not a threat to the community, but someone who has much to contribute.”
Donna Kafer, Arizona Legislative Chaplain and longtime prison ministry volunteer, shares her perspective on Paul Petersen based on her experience working with incarcerated individuals.
“Paul Petersen has been incarcerated for several years and has demonstrated himself to be an exemplary inmate – one who deserves thoughtful consideration.
He has made full restitution for any monies owed to the State of Arizona, which is uncommon among those who are incarcerated. Paul is not a threat to the community, but rather someone who has much to contribute to the well-being of his state.
Having spent 15 years involved in prison ministry, I have seen firsthand the hardships inmates face and the lasting impact incarceration can have. At the same time, I have also seen how that experience can create deep empathy, gratitude, and a genuine desire for a new beginning.
Paul Petersen is a man who should be given the opportunity to rebuild his life and reunite with his family and community. Based on what I have seen, I believe he is ready for that opportunity.”
